Wendy Krueger, Fly Fishing Guide
WHITE MOUNTAINS, AZ FLY FISHING REPORT Update for July 13, 2010 The monsoon has arrived, which is good since we were getting pretty dry in the forest after the spring winds. The rain cools down the streams, so fish early as the rain typically moves in after 1pm in the mountains. Try small bead head nymphs either upstream or as a back retrieve. Small dry flys are also working.. Fish the faster currents if possible, as these hold better oxygen and food supply. Lower Black River has good flow and is not overly "cloudy". East Fork of the Black River will get muddy from rains due to runoff from the adjacent roads. When is a good time to fish ? Anytime you can !! Tight lines - Wendy
